10 Metros with the Shortest Days on the Market

The median age of inventory fell by 5.1 percent in 2013 compared to 2012, according to realtor.com®’s National Housing Trend Report.Nationwide, the median age of inventory was 112 days in December 2013, but in some metros, homes were selling in less than half that time.

The following are the 10 metros with the lowest medians for days on the market, according to realtor.com®:

Oakland, Calif.: 48 days
Stockton-Lodi, Calif.: 56
Honolulu: 64
San Jose, Calif.: 70
Sacramento, Calif.: 70 days
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.: 71
Boulder-Longmont, Colo: 71
Phoenix-Mesa, Ariz.: 71
Detroit: 71
San Francisco: 74

That 70 days is for our whole area market, many areas are moving much more quickly than that. What does it mean, our local market is brisk. Buyers know that it’s a great time to buy. Hence, for many Sellers, this presents an excellent opportunity. Call, email or text me for details.
